Here in Perth Western Australia - capital of Australia's mines for the world - we live with the Main Roads entity of state government. They are responsible for the stewardship of public art on freeway 'noise' walls (their term!).

What a pity there is no consideration of why pattern works.

We experience much of the opposite. Most disturbing are visual elements that CLASH with their repeated element 'friends'. It's all more than slightly off. No Design technicals here.
